About the Database

The EGL/EGA Databases were born back in 2006 for the use of the EGL Sales Community to leave feedback for buyers and sellers, whether it be negative, positive or neutral feedback. It also served as a place to house lists of online sellers, lolita brands, and other helpful information to the EGL Community.

The original database was previously housed on Livejournal, but due to a snafoo with their system, the database crashed and we lost a lot of our information. And because of that crash, the database closed.

A group of volunteers, including myself, talia_speaks, got together and wracked our brains on how to make the easiest feedback system possible. At first, we made a new Livejournal community and implemented easy to submit feedback submission forms (which we will still be using here). But in about two days, I think we messed up posts more than we made a dent in getting the database up. So, with lack for a better term, I got fed up and purchased us a domain, one that was easy to remember because it used the same name as the old database, Loligoth DBS.

Another site I have uses WordPress, and that is by far the easiest blogging system to use on the market, even easier than Livejournal. So I installed it here. We can make posts and pages and backdate them, and make sure everything stays in order. Our site has a huge amount of bandwidth to accomodate the traffic, and best of all, a backup system!

So now we give you the New Loligoth DBS. May it prosper and never (knock on wood) crash.
